Moving the left stick allows you to roll, double-, and even triple-jump, which is essential for dodging enemies and their dogged bombardment of projectiles. Instead of an overhead standpoint, Ascent’s camera adopts a side-view perspective of the action. But the left stick isn’t used for movement in a conventional way.
